Name the new Care Village (Tweedbank)
Overview
A new care village is being built to replace Garden View and Waverley Care Homes and is due to open late 2027.
We would like to involve local people, residents, families, staff and the wider community in selecting a meaningful and inclusive name for the Tweedbank Care Village, and each of the three buildings, reinforcing its identity as a welcoming part of the local community.
Ideally the name should reflect the following principles:
• Respectful and positive – reflects dignity, wellbeing and community
• Place-based – grounded in Tweedbank and the local area
What happens next
A panel will be developed to create a shortlist from the suggestions given by participants. Thereafter, staff and residents at the current Care Homes will select a name for the care village at Tweedbank and each of the three buidings on the site. Once the names have been selected these will be shared on Social Media and with staff, residents and familes.
