Walkerburn Pump Track Floodlighting
Overview
Pump Track in Use - Home - Velosolutions
With construction of the consented pump track due to commence in April 2024, we are seeking your views on potential floodlighting options for the new facility. Note that this is not covered under the existing planning application - if there is sufficient support, the detailed design of the floodlights will be subject to a seperate planning application that will be submitted in the near future.
Sports Scotland are offering grant funding to cover a proportion of the cost for the design and installation of the floodlights. These could potentially be installed during the construction of the main facility. This is an excellent opportunity to upgrade the facility using external funds.

The potential floodlights would be directional LED's to mimise any light overspill from the intended area and will be designed by a specialist lighting contractor. The operation of the lights would be through a photocell (i.e. activate when the lighting levels are too low) combined with a timeclock which allows the system to be used only between pre-determined periods (e.g. 3.00pm to 9.00pm). These times are to be confirmed. In addition, the system will be a card operated and therefore will only be activated when a user is present.
Why your views matter
Your views are important to us so that we understand the demand for floodlighting and will help inform any potential planning applications
