ELC Expansion Workforce Survey
Overview
INFORMATION AND QUESTIONNAIRE FOR SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL EARLY LEARNING AND CHILDCARE STAFF IN SCHOOL NURSERIES
Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) has changed rapidly over the last few years. As well as a name change from pre-school, parents/carers are offered more hours available to a wider age range of children and local authorities are being asked to deliver provision in increasingly flexible ways.
Looking ahead, the landscape will continue to change; local authorities and funded providers in the private and voluntary sectors will need to adapt and change their provision. By 2020, the Early Learning and Childcare offer will have become more varied, parents will be able to access a range of hours and choices, and they will be able to access more hours.
Why your views matter
This expansion will create more opportunities for staff in terms of increasing their contracted hours and different working patterns, as well as the possible creation of more posts and more senior positions.
We would like to hear feedback from all practitioners working in Scottish Borders Council's Early Learning and Childcare settings on the following questions. (This is for information gathering to inform future planning and at this stage you are not committing to making any changes to the way you currently work)
What happens next
We will assess the responses and use the information to help advise the ELC Expansion delivery board
