Commissioning Strategy Survey

Overview

The Scottish Border Council commissioning Strategy sets out to;
VisionTo commission high-quality and sustainable, services that deliver Best Value and improved outcomes for the people, communities, and economy of the Scottish Borders.

Mission Statement To deliver effective, transparent, and outcomes-focused commissioning that ensures Best Value, supports inclusive economic growth, and contributes to the long-term wellbeing of the Scottish Borders population. We will work collaboratively with communities, providers, and partners to design and secure services that are responsive to local needs, promote innovation, and maximise social, economic, and environmental benefits.

This draft commissioning strategy will underpin how the council will work with its partners when commissioning services to be delivered by other organisations. There are twelve principles that will underpin the council’s approach to commissioning which we would like to hear your views on.

The strategy describes our commitment to each of the twelve principles and what this commitment will mean in practice in terms of the council’s approach taken. Please find the draft strategy and a brief survey form that you can fill in.

Why your views matter

Commissioning is how SBC decides what services are needed, how to provide them, and how to check they are working. It is a continuous cycle of understanding needs, choosing the best option, putting services in place, and learning from results.  By taking part in this survey you have the opportunity to shape services with clearer information about why decisions are made.
