Overview

Community planning is the process by which councils and other public bodies such as Health Boards and Police Scotland work with local communities, businesses and community groups to plan and deliver better services and improve the lives of people who live in Scotland. Community Planning Partnerships is the name given to the group of organisations who deliver community planning.

Under the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 Community Planning Partnerships are required to develop a plan that sets out the priorities for improving people's lives and reducing inequalities.

A lot has changed since our previous Community Plan was agreed in May 2018.  We know that there are now new priorities for all of us and we want our new plan to include these. The Community Planning Partnership currently has a 12 month Work Plan in place to bridge the gap between the old and new Plans.

We have analysed data to understand what is working well and what needs to be improved.  We have listened to what you have told us in other surveys and community based meetings, including the Council’s Community Conversations.

Using this information we have developed a new list of priorities.  We would like to know which ones matter most to you.

Following the consultation we will develop the new Community Plan based on the priority outcomes. This new Plan will be presented to the Community Planning Partnership Strategic Board at their meeting on 7 September 2023.

Information about the meeting will be available on the Council's website: Calendar of Council meetings
