Pass It On Jedburgh Schools furniture project note of interest

Closed 19 Mar 2020

Opened 6 Mar 2020

Overview

Update Thursday 20 March:

The viewing morning at Jedburgh Primary (Howdenburn) has been moved back to Saturday 21 March from 9am to 12noon. The Jedburgh Grammar viewing morning for Jedburgh community groups will still take place on Saturday 21 March from 9am to 12noon.

Due to the Coronavirus response, we are aiming to limit the number of people attending at one time so all respondents to the note of interest will be contacted via email on Thursday to pick a viewing slot during the morning. Those attending are also asked to follow national guidance regarding regularly washing hands with soap and hot water or using a sanitiser gel.

Please remember these sessions are for viewing only and no claims or reservation for specific items will be taken on the viewing days.

Hundreds of pieces of furniture and equipment from schools in Jedburgh are being made available for re-use, as part of the national Pass it on Week.

With children set to move to the new Jedburgh Grammar Campus next month, a variety of items from the current Grammar School and Jedburgh Primary will soon be surplus to requirements at the new community facility.

Instead of the furniture and equipment being thrown out and increasing the local carbon footprint, both schools and Scottish Borders Council are offering the items up to community groups and members of the public.

Items on offer include chairs and desks of various sizes and type, lockers, cabinets, noticeboards, shelfing, plastic trays, tall stools, drawer units, benches, woodwork machinery and PE equipment.

Anyone interested in picking up any items are asked to complete our very short note of interest form by Thursday 19 March.

After schools in the Scottish Borders identify what items they would like, local community groups followed by members of the public will be able to view the furniture and equipment.

‘Select and Collect’ day will then be held for these groups and individuals to pick up the items they wish to reuse. Transport is not available for any items being collected.
