Sport, leisure and cultural services and facilities consultation
Overview
This survey is one part of a wide-ranging community engagement plan seeking the input of Borderers on the future of Live Borders services and facilities.
This follows a review by independent consultants Integratis, who have extensive experience working with local authorities and sport and culture trusts. They were tasked by Live Borders and the Council with taking an objective approach to identifying options which will help Live Borders deliver accessible, relevant and cost-effective services from a sustainable property estate. The Integratis report was published in April 2025.
In addition to the survey, we will be engaging directly with representatives from key community and stakeholder groups across the region and will also host drop-in events, have pop-up information stands in high footfall locations and hold live online events where public questions will be addressed.

Why your views matter
No decisions have been made, and your input to this survey and our conversations with communities, stakeholders and colleagues over the coming months will help build up the full picture of our communities’ priorities, how services and facilities are used, where alternatives exist and the impacts of different options.
Your responses to this survey and the feedback gathered from more than 6,500 people in 2023, at the very start of the joint review of sport, leisure and cultural services and facilities, will help shape evidence-based and balanced recommendations, which will be considered by Elected Members later this year.
