Teviot & Liddesdale Community Fund Pot B Assessment Panel - volunteer application form
Overview
The Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 is legislation that helps communities do more for themselves and have more say in the decisions that affect them. In line with the ethos of the Act and the Scottish Community Development Centre’s Review of Area Partnerships, and the Community Fund, Scottish Borders Council has been supporting working groups to identify what the 2021-22 Community Fund arrangements should look like in each of the five localities.
Teviot & Liddesdale Community Fund Pot B Assessment Panel provides an exciting new opportunity to join a small community led team responsible for assessing SBC’s Community Fund applications and making funding recommendations to Teviot & Liddesdale Area Partnership for approval. Each Community Council ward area has been allocated a space on the panel and they are looking for enthusiastic community members to fill the remaining spaces on the panel.
This is an important and challenging role, offering a chance to contribute to the Teviot & Liddesdale Area Partnership examining grant applications to ensure consistency of assessment against approved processes and criteria, value for money and the potential to achieve positive outcomes for the benefit of the community. The Panel aims to contribute to the open, accountable and transparent decision making in relation to the Teviot & Liddesdale Community Fund.
Successful candidates will have a genuine interest in the positive development of communities across Teviot & Liddesdale. We are looking to form a mixed group of experienced and non-experienced grant assessors however, applicants should have an understanding of local need and priorities, have good communication and interpersonal skills, be willing to work as part of a team, be respectful of the views of others and be willing to learn.
