Overview
The Council has produced a draft Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan for Newstead Conservation Area. The document is made of two parts, the Appraisal, and the Management Plan:
- The Appraisal aims to identify the special architectural and historic character of the conservation area.
- The Management Plan provides guidance to help preserve and enhance that special character.
The document is intended to be an informative guide to the history, architecture and character of the area, provide guidance for making changes in the area, and can help with future funding applications. It helps fulfil the Council's statutory duty to review its area for conservation area designation and formulate proposals for their preservation and enhancement.
