PROPOSAL TO CLOSE EDDLESTON PRIMARY SCHOOL  AND REZONE CATCHMENT

Eddleston Primary School was mothballed in 2022, following a significant drop in pupil numbers to four pupils and the move from children to other schools in the Tweeddale Cluster area. Since mothballing, the Council has monitored the school and the provision of education in the area. An Options Appraisal has been completed considering all reasonable options regarding the school’s future. The appraisal indicated that the most appropriate option was a permanent closure of the school. The Council is now seeking your views on the proposals and options prior to making a final decision regarding the future of the school including your views on rezoning of the catchment area.
