Daytime opportunities for older adults and those with complex needs - Eildon 2023

Closed 26 Nov 2023

Opened 2 Oct 2023

Overview

The Scottish Borders Health and Social Care Partnership is currently reviewing the social opportunities that are available to adults with a range of complex needs.

Engagement recently carried out by the Partnership in Teviot and Liddesdale showed that there are many social opportunities available such as lunch clubs, walking groups, men’s sheds etc. but that many of these activities were not able to support those with more complex needs. The engagement also showed that there were barriers to taking part in these activities such as the requirement for transport or personal care.

The Health and Social Care Partnership aims to ensure that adults with complex care needs have the opportunity to take part in social activities with others in a similar situation. In turn, this may allow family members/Unpaid Carers to have a break from caring responsibilities.

The Scottish Borders Health and Social Care Partnership is now commencing a review of activities and services in the Eildon Locality. The review aims to identify any gaps in provision and, where gaps are found, identify and put in place a suitable solution.

Why your views matter

It will help us to know what activities you currently use and what makes it hard for you to take part in activities.

It will also help us to know what kind of activities/service you would like to participate in.  But before we do that, we need to know about you. For the purpose of this survey we will use the term "you" which will include the person that you may be representing.

If you be interested in joining a forum that discusses these kinds of topics in the future, please email socialworkconsultation@scotborders.gov.uk
