Coldingham Beach Hut Plot Waiting List 2026
Overview
Coldingham Bay is managed by the Active Travel and Transport Team and as part of that we deal with the allocation of beach hut plots. We are advertising the ballot for the waiting list now for a limited time.
At this time - you can provide your details and enter into the ballot based on the process below
Process
- All applications received during the advertised application period will be entered into a ballot.
- Ten individuals will be selected at random from the ballot.
- These ten individuals will form the official waiting list for sites and will be notified of this selection. If you are not selected, then you will not be contacted and your details will be deleted.
Allocation of sites
- When a site becomes available, it will be offered to the person at the top of the waiting list of the ten selected from the ballot.
- Occasionally a site may become available with a beach hut already constructed. In such cases, the person at the top of the waiting list may be given the opportunity to acquire the hut through a separate negotiation with the owners.
Duration of the Waiting List
- The waiting list will be held for approximately 10 years, or until all individuals on the list have been contacted, whichever occurs first.
- After this period, a new ballot will be undertaken to refresh the list.
Removal from the selected Waiting List
You may be removed from the selected waiting list if:
- you accept a plot;
- you advise that you no longer wish to remain on the list;
- Repeated attempts by us to contact you are unsuccessful.
Lease terms:
- The annual rent for a standard site is £360 + VAT - we do have some sites that vary due to plot size.
- Next rent review date is 1 April 2029.
- The lease is for the SITE ONLY, the huts on site remain in the ownership of the lease holder.
Please note that any offer of a plot will be subject to a full application process which will also require legal fees and credit checks etc. SBC reserves the right to withdraw or amend this process at any time.
Scottish Borders Council respects your right to privacy and will process the personal information you provide to us in accordance with applicable data protection laws including the GDPR.
